Hi, I’m Megan McKinzey—a portrait photographer and multimedia artist based in Colorado Springs. With a BFA in Photography from the University of New Mexico, I’ve been creating expressive, intentional portraits since 2012.
My photography is rooted in capturing individuality and authenticity, with a focus on creating vibrant, collaborative sessions that reflect who you are. While portraiture is my main focus, I also explore nature photography and alternative processes—like cyanotypes, glitch techniques, and incorporating my own radiographs into experimental pieces. These creative explorations keep my work dynamic, personal, and ever-evolving.
When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll probably find me cooking something from scratch, playing Red Dead Redemption, or unapologetically napping—usually surrounded by my four black cats: Lucy, Tiabeanie, Meelo, and Gohan. I share life (and a lot of photo gear) with my partner TJ, who often assists on shoots. My work has been featured in publications like Gothesque Magazine, Canvas Rebel, and Voyage Denver.
